COVID19 Update
Today, Governor John Bel Edwards issued an Executive Order asking people to refrain from attending gatherings of more than 250 people in an effort to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and closing schools for the next 30 days. Our school, along with all Catholic schools in the State of Louisiana, will be following the governor’s executive order. At this time, we want parents to know: • Essential personnel will be onsite as necessary. • Faculty and staff will continue to be paid during this time period. • Tuition payments will be as normal. • Students will be required to complete age-appropriate assignments. Please expect further communication from your child’s school as we move forward for the next 30 days. This situation is fluid and changes are occurring rapidly. Please check your email, and all official school social media accounts regularly for updates.

Communication 3-19-2020
We all know this is not the most ideal situation, but we want to continue to remain grateful that in this time of uncertainty we still have the means of communication to remain in contact and continue to provide our wonderful students with the education they deserve. This week we are setting up “Home Learning”, through Class Dojo. All assignments, instructional videos, links etc., will posted be to Class Dojo. Please check Class Dojo daily for communication. Our teachers are exploring different means of delivering lessons including videoing lessons, creating lessons on our Pearson accounts, and uploading documents on Dojo. By the end of this week, we are hoping to have all classes set up, and all assignments submitted through these sites. All students will be required to complete all assigned work. In grades 3rd -7th, students will be required to take on-line assessments through and these assessments will be used as a tool for the teachers to ensure that the students are completing assignments, and that the students understand what it is they are doing. Once the data are collected from these assessments, the teachers will use it to see what students need remediation and what we need to do in terms of direct instruction. We cannot communicate with the student without the parent physically being there. If we feel or you feel that the student needs direct instruction via a video, you must be present with the student. If at any time the student has questions about a particular assignment, please message the teacher. We will try to get back to you as quickly as we can, but no later than 48 hours. If you do not have access to the internet, hard copies of tests will be available at the school. Parents may pick up books, supplies etc., during our school office hours Tues, Wed, and Thurs 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. During this time, we ask all of you to please be patient. Together we can get through this. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Rosie Kendrick
