Calling all those with a special devotion to St. Joseph and those who desire to have a special devotion to St. Joseph!
It's time to begin preparing for the 2019 St. Joseph Altar! We will hold our annual St. Joseph's Altar on Tuesday, March 19th -- only a few weeks away! Monetary donations are most welcome. The money will be used to place orders for specialty breads (hammer, nail, cross, crown of thorns, ladder, sandal, fish, bishop's hat) and specialty cakes (Sacred Heart of Jesus cake, Bible cake, Cross cake, lamb cakes, and round cakes). You are also welcome to help with setting up the altar on Monday, March 18th. And, of course, we will need all the items found on a traditional St. Joseph Altar -- Italian cookies, memorial cakes, cakes to cut and serve, flowers, candles, holy cards, nuts, lemons, oranges, apples, bell peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, eggplant, potatoes, sago palms -- just to name a few. If you have any statues or pictures that we could use to display on the altar, please let us know. The St. Joseph Altar will be open Tuesday, March 19th, from 9:00 – 4:00. The 8th grade will perform the Tupa, Tupa and recite the Rosary at 11:30. All are invited to participate - students, mothers, fathers, grandmothers, grandfathers, aunts, and uncles. Please call Marilyn D'Antoni at 503-7621 if you can donate in any way. Have a get-together with family and friends to bake Italian cookies for the altar! If you need Italian cookie recipes, just give us a call! Viva San Giuseppe!Posted: 02-21-2019

Message from the Louisiana Department of Health - An Increase in Measles Cases in the U.S.
02/07/2019 02:51:20 PM An increase in measles cases in the U.S. has been identified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Although cases of Measles have not yet spread to Louisiana, we want clinicians to be on the lookout. Measles is still common in many parts of the world, including some countries in Europe, Asia, the Pacific, and Africa. Ukraine and Israel are having especially large outbreaks. Travelers with measles continue to bring the disease into the U.S and measles can spread when it reaches a community where groups of people are unvaccinated.Posted: 02-07-2019
